Reputation audit - lead entry point
The free audit (
repotz.com/audit) is the main entry path for new prospects: a public, anonymous lead magnet that leads to account creation with pre-filled onboarding.
The audit’s role in acquisition
Section titled “The audit’s role in acquisition”The audit is a prospect magnet (lead magnet): public, account-free, it gives the visitor an immediate snapshot of their reputation, then invites them to create an account. It is the intended entry path for the majority of new accounts. Its emerald header band uses the same branding and structure as other free tools, both in search and in results.
Steps from the visitor’s perspective
Section titled “Steps from the visitor’s perspective”- Search: the visitor enters the name (or phone number) of their business, store or company, optionally the city/region, then selects their listing from the automatically suggested results. If they don’t have a Google listing, manual entry (website, phone) allows the audit to launch anyway.
- Analysis - a score out of 100 is calculated across 6 pillars: Google listing (20 points), Reviews and sentiment (20), Social media (15), AI visibility (15), Website and SEO (15), Trust and authority (15). The site is read in the audit’s language, and if its landing address is only a language selection page (a gateway without content), the analysis continues to the home page in that language - it is this page that is measured, speed included, rather than the empty gateway. The score and most pillars display within seconds; the longest pillars (Website and AI visibility) then finish in the background (progressive analysis, usually completed in under two minutes). The result remains viewable during this time.
- Results - overall score, pillar details and main gaps are displayed in real time, then updated as background pillars complete.
What the results page contains
Section titled “What the results page contains”- Header: business name with its links (Google listing, website), score gauge out of 100 with the A to F grade and its recommendation, and a radar chart of the 6 pillars.
- Freshness notice: recent changes to a Google listing, website or social media can take up to 7 business days to appear.
- If the website could not be read, a box states this and distinguishes three cases, because they don’t mean the same thing to the merchant. Protected site: the site responded but refused our reader (anti-robot protection) - visitors see it normally, its speed and mobile compatibility are well measured (they come from Google, which is not blocked), however page markup and social links remain at 0 because we could not verify them. Dead address: the address on the Google listing returns a page not found - this is a real problem, customers who click from Google end up in the void. No response: the site gave no response during analysis, without us being able to say if it’s a temporary outage. In all three cases, the zeros displayed flag what RepOtz was unable to verify, not a judgment on the site.
- Pillar detail: each pillar expands and shows the score for each of its signals (progress bar and points earned). A ranking in 5 levels (Excellent, Good, To improve, Fragile, Critical) situates the pillar at a glance.
- Resource links: on the weakest signals, external guides are offered to correct the issue.
- How RepOtz helps you: on each lagging pillar, a box indicates the RepOtz feature that addresses the gap.
- AI visibility pillar: in addition to its signals, a table of AI queries (query type, mention, position, cited competitors).
- Trust & authority pillar: its six signals (testimonials, case studies, certifications, awards, press coverage, editorial content) are established by reading the home page, and each validated signal cites the sentence from your page that validated it - displayed under the signal in the online report and in the “Details” column of the PDF. You can therefore verify each point on your own site rather than take our word for it. What counts: a sentence that the visitor sees (a “Testimonials” or “Our work” section title is enough), not a word hidden in the code. What doesn’t count: a company describing itself as “the best” (that’s neither customer feedback nor an award), a gallery of office photos (that’s not a case study), a press release you publish yourself (that’s not press coverage), nor your legal pages or “about” page (that’s not editorial content).
- Social media pillar: in addition to its signals, the map of detected platforms, grouped by category (social networks, review platforms, messaging), with the rating and number of reviews when known. Profiles are detected in two ways: links present on the website and those declared in the site’s structured data (schema.org markup). The latter carry the note “not linked on site” (in the online report as in the PDF): the profile exists and counts toward the Social media pillar, but no link on the page leads to it, so a visitor might miss it - the suggested correction is to add icons in the footer. The Website pillar, on the other hand, only credits actually clickable links. The messaging availability signal is validated as soon as a customer can write to the business: a messaging profile (WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, including via a short link like
wa.link) or a live chat window installed on the site. - Report address: as soon as the audit starts, the page address becomes
repotz.com/audit?token=.... You can therefore refresh the page or copy the address without losing your report, and a “Share this audit” button copies this same link. Valid as long as the audit has not expired (30 days); after that period, the link displays a message inviting you to run a free audit again.
Below the search form, a public counter displays the number of audits already performed (and how many in the last 30 days). This is proof of usage: these are anonymous totals, no business name or visitor data appears. The counter disappears as soon as the visitor launches their audit.
If search is temporarily unavailable
Section titled “If search is temporarily unavailable”Business search relies on external data providers. If the main provider responds poorly or is overwhelmed, RepOtz automatically switches to a backup source: search continues to work transparently. The wait message (“Search service temporarily unavailable”) therefore only appears as a last resort, if both sources are unavailable at the same time; simply wait a minute then try again. This is not a problem on the visitor’s account side, and manual entry (website, phone) always remains possible to launch the audit without going through search. The same behavior applies everywhere a listing is searched: public audit, “Connect my Google listing” in the dashboard, and the free Google reviews tool.
The /audit page
Section titled “The /audit page”Since August 21, 2026, the audit page is also a presentation page: title “Free online reputation audit in under 2 minutes”, a paragraph “Why audit your online reputation now?”, the 6 pillars with their scoring, the audit completion counter, and a FAQ of five questions (what an audit is, free cost, duration, sources consulted, what to do with the score). The FAQ answers reproduce exactly the rules in this chapter.
Lead magnet: PDF report by email
Section titled “Lead magnet: PDF report by email”The visitor can receive a detailed report by email (PDF). This is the capture point. The form asks for: email (required), name and phone (optional), then two checkboxes before the “Get report” button:
- Terms of use + Privacy policy (required): must be checked to send the report (time-stamped acceptance).
- Marketing communications (optional, unchecked by default): explicit consent to be contacted again.
The address (and name/phone if provided) is retained by RepOtz:
- The report is sent as soon as the email is entered and Terms are accepted (this is the requested service), regardless of whether the marketing checkbox is checked.
- Without marketing consent, the address is never used for prospecting.
- Marketing consent is revocable at any time via the unsubscribe link present in emails.
No cookie banner on the site: only strictly necessary/functional cookies are placed, and audience measurement (Plausible) is cookieless. Details in the privacy policy.
Conversion to an account
Section titled “Conversion to an account”A call to action invites account creation. The audit performed is attached to registration (an audit token is passed to the account creation form), including via Google.
The email report button leads to the same path as the results page button: it carries the audit, so registration displays the audited business and pre-fills the email, and the workspace is created automatically on arrival. Since reports expire after 30 days, a late click displays a clear message (“Your audit has expired…”) with a link to run a free audit again: registration remains possible, only pre-filling is lost.
Automatic onboarding from the audit
Section titled “Automatic onboarding from the audit”Once the account is created and trial started, if the audit was about a Google listing, RepOtz automatically replays this audit on dashboard arrival and creates your entire workspace in one move: the business, the location, the detected platforms and a default campaign (with its QR codes), then places you directly on that campaign. No re-entry: it’s the same result as “Connect my Google listing” from the dashboard. The already-analyzed listing is reused (no new search call), and the Google baseline (public rating and reviews) is attached to the business.
If the audit was manual (no Google listing), you arrive at the pre-filled setup path (business and location pre-filled, platforms importable in one click) to finish yourself.
The setup path remains available at any time to adjust or add. See Getting started for what comes next.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Q. Do I need an account to do the audit? A. No, the audit is free, public and anonymous. An account is only needed to go further.
Q. My business doesn’t have a Google listing, can I still be audited? A. Yes, via manual entry (website, phone).
Q. I did an audit then created an account: are my data carried over? A. Yes. If the audit was about a Google listing, your business, location, platforms and a default campaign are created automatically on dashboard arrival (nothing to re-enter). For a manual audit, the setup path pre-fills your business and location for you to complete.
Q. What is the score based on? A. On 6 pillars, for a total of 100 points: Google listing (20), Reviews and sentiment (20), Social media (15), AI visibility (15), Website and SEO (15), Trust and authority (15).
Q. Why do I see “Search service temporarily unavailable”? A. Both external search sources are responding poorly at the same time (RepOtz normally switches between them automatically). Wait a minute then try the search again. Nothing unusual on the account side; you can also launch the audit via manual entry (website, phone).
Q. My audit is taking a while to complete, is that normal? A. Yes. The score and most pillars display within seconds; the Website and AI visibility pillars, which are longer, then finish in the background (usually in under two minutes) and the report updates itself.
