QR codes & Campaigns

How to create a Campaign, generate your QR codes and Short links, and distribute them.

A Campaign is created at the level of a Location. It generates four QR codes, one for each type of collection funnel, which share the same style:

  • Full form (full) - complete Review form with routing based on satisfaction.
  • Simple (simple) - quick choice satisfied/not satisfied.
  • Platforms (platforms) - page listing your Review platforms.
  • Video testimonial (social_proof) - the customer records a short video testimonial via a guided funnel. Reserved for the Max plan (up to 50 active testimonials).

The details of each funnel are in the Public collection funnel guide (F6).

Within a Campaign, you set: the emoji set (smileys or thumbs), the platform layout (grid or stacked), the colors (main and background) and a cover image.

You can also choose, per Campaign, the featured Platforms: select the Platforms to display first and order them (up/down buttons). This choice applies everywhere your Platforms appear (Platforms page and “Platforms” step of all funnels/templates): your favorites display first (with an action label, e.g. “Leave a Review”), then a “See all” button reveals the others (a “See less” button, placed at the divider between favorites and others, collapses the list). Featured Platforms follow the layout chosen for the Campaign, like the others: grid boxes in grid layout, full-width rows in stacked layout. If you feature none, all your Platforms display (without “See all”).

From the Campaign Actions menu, Customize QR opens the style editor. The style applies to the 4 QR codes of the Campaign and is immediately reflected in the preview and in the downloads. The QR always encodes the same Short link /s/..., so a styled QR scans exactly like a plain QR.

As of September 8, 2026, the editor exposes all available drawing options, grouped by section:

  • Colors: main color, background, or transparent background (PNG and SVG) to place the QR on a poster or visual.
  • Modules: square, dots, rounded, very rounded, elegant, elegant rounded.
  • Eyes: the outline and center of each eye are adjusted separately, with seven shapes each (square, rounded, very rounded, circle, dots, leaf, rounded leaf). The outline can have its own color, and the center yet another.
  • Gradient: vertical, horizontal, diagonal, inverse diagonal or radial, between two colors, applied to modules only or to modules and eyes.
  • Silhouette and frame: square or round silhouette (the code is completed by decorative dots that do not interfere with reading); frame none, square or disk for printing.
  • Logo: uploaded image, then size (20 to 60% of the code), margin around the logo and choice to erase or not the modules under the logo.
  • Advanced: level of error correction (L 7%, M 15%, Q 25%, H 30%). On automatic, RepOtz chooses H with a logo and M without. The higher the level, the more the QR tolerates a logo, dirt or imperfect printing, at the cost of a denser pattern.

The same options are available in the free QR code generator, with identical rendering. A style saved before September 8, 2026 displays exactly as before.

  • Download each QR in SVG or PNG, with the personalized style.
  • The style also applies on public pages: the QR of the “Show QR” button (links page, quick funnel) and the QR displayed bottom right on desktop (same white frame, without caption, on all models) are copies of the Campaign’s personalized QR (shapes, colors, gradient and logo). Only the frame chosen for printing (square or disk) is not replicated: the page’s white card takes its place, with the same margin on all models.
  • ZIP archive of all QR codes in a Campaign (styled).
  • Duplication of a Campaign, scan counter and date of last activity.

The Campaign page includes a Visibility in search engines block, which controls the public Platforms page:

  • Public address of your page - built from the Business name and Location city (e.g. repotz.com/platforms/le-bistro-du-coin-montreal), editable (only the part after the prefix), with a button to copy it. After a rename, the old address continues to redirect; your QR codes already printed never break.
  • Description displayed in Google - 300 characters maximum, displayed in search results and on the page. If empty, an automatic description is used.
  • Make my page visible in search engines - enabled by default; unchecking it removes the page from search results without making it inaccessible.

As of August 21, 2026, this checkbox alone is no longer sufficient: the page is only proposed to search engines when the profile is complete. Four pieces of information are automatically verified, on each save: the name and logo of the Business, the city of the Location, and a Location description of at least 150 characters (the Business name copied does not count). As long as one is missing, the page remains accessible to all and by QR, but it is served as noindex and does not appear in the sitemap or public directory. The Campaign block lists precisely what is missing, and displays “Complete profile” as soon as everything is there. As soon as the profile is completed, the page becomes referenceable again without any intervention: no need to “fill” the description with generic text, a short and sincere description of your Business will do. Existing addresses never change.

Processing time. When you save the Business (name, logo), the Location (description, city, address, status) or the Visibility block of the Campaign, the page enters the RepOtz sitemap, or leaves it, within a few minutes. Other changes (QR code paused or reactivated, end of trial, subscription reaching its end date) are applied within the hour at the latest. There is no limit to the number of pages RepOtz can offer to search engines. Google then discovers the page at its own pace, often within a few days: being in the sitemap helps it find your page, but guarantees neither its indexing nor its position in the results.

Details are in the Review platforms guide.

  • Each QR is accessible via a Short link /s/{key}. On creation, a short key is automatically generated (e.g. /s/de34r5i9). The technical key (UUID) remains immutable and valid as a fallback.
  • You can rename the key to a custom alias (e.g. /s/my-restaurant): lowercase, numbers and hyphens, 64 characters max, unique. Some keys are reserved by RepOtz. Important: after a rename, the old link continues to work - a QR already printed never breaks.
  • Each Short link is born with a QR (Campaign QR, or traceable QR from the free generator); there is currently no dedicated screen to create a Short link alone.

On each funnel card, a FR / EN / ES selector chooses the language in which the link and QR open the funnel:

  • FR keeps the printed link unchanged (/s/{key}): it is the historical address, valid forever.
  • EN and ES simply add a ?l=en or ?l=es parameter to the Short link (e.g. /s/my-restaurant?l=en). The visitor arrives directly on the funnel in that language.
  • The displayed link, the Copy button, the preview (eye icon) and the SVG / PNG downloads follow the selected language: download a different QR per language if you distribute to English or Spanish-speaking audiences.
  • Scans remain counted on the same QR, regardless of language (shared total).

When you are logged in, QR codes of type URL generated from free tools can become traceable: the Short link is created when the QR is downloaded and appears in the QR from tools section of your Analytics page, with the scan count. Other types of QR codes (wifi, text, vCard, event) are generated on the fly and are not saved.

The number of traceable QR codes depends on your plan (anti-abuse and growth lever). Once the limit is reached, an explicit message invites you to upgrade to a higher plan - there is never silent blocking.

Q. If I reprint or modify a Campaign, do my old QR codes stop working? A. No. A QR’s UUID is immutable: supports already printed continue to work.

Q. Can I customize the address of my link? A. Yes, via an alias (/s/my-restaurant), if it is available and compliant (lowercase, numbers, hyphens).

Q. Can I share a funnel directly in English or Spanish? A. Yes. On the funnel card, choose EN or ES: the link (with ?l=en / ?l=es) and the downloaded QR open the funnel in that language. The FR link remains the original printed address, unchanged.

Q. What is the QR limit on my plan? A. It depends on the plan; it is displayed in your Account, and a message alerts you if you reach it.

Q. Can I make a QR expire on a given date? A. This option is not currently exposed in the interface (behavior carried over from the previous version).
